What is the Scheme?

Swaran Jayanti Sahari Rozgar Yojna (SJSRY) is a government scheme to provide loans to persons under below poverty line.

Who can get loan under this schme?

Unemployed or unemployed urban poor for setting up gainful self employment.

Where I have to go and during which hours?

To the Assistant Project Officer of district at O/o the Deputy Commissioner during any working day between 10:00AM to 1:00PM.

What is the eligibility criteria?

You must be holder of BPL (Below Poverty Line) ration card.

Age should be between 18 yrs to 50 yrs.

Knowledge of project, which you intends to start.

Two passport type photographs.

You must have availability of work space.

Qualification : Illiterate to 10th FAILED.

What would be the loan amount?

The maximum of Rs. 50,000. Subsidy is 15% of the project cost, subject to maximum of Rs. 7,500/-. The benefeciary are required to contribute 5% of the project cost as margin mney in urban self employment programme.

Whehter this scheme is open for individual only?

No, a project can be started by a gorup of people. Subsidy & Margin money conditions will remain same.

Any additional benefits for women?

Group of women should consist of atleast 10 urban poor women. The group shall be entitled to a subsidy of Rs. 1,25,000 or 50% of the project cost whichever is less. However 5% margin money is to be contributed by the beneficiaries.

When will I get response?

Normally within 15 days.
